Sgt. Alvin C. York

During the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, York led an assault on a German machine gun position that resulted in the capture of multiple enemy soldiers and the neutralization of several machine gun nests. His actions significantly disrupted enemy defenses and enabled the continued advance of his unit. He was later responsible for escorting a large number of prisoners back through contested terrain.
